Roland Dwaine "Sonny" Plaster

Services for Roland Dwaine "Sonny" Plaster, 75, of Canton, will be held 11:00 am Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Eubank Funeral Home with Tommy James, Bro. Randy Crudgington, Bro. Jerry Truett and Bro. Josh Blakely officiating. Interment will be in Haven of Memories.

Mr. Plaster passed away at his home on September 26, 2021. He was born October 9, 1945 in Canton.

Sonny grew up and lived his whole life in Canton. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Sonny was very patriotic. He retired from TXU after 27 years of service. He then became a "shade tree mechanic." Sonny loved the outdoors and country life. He loved to farm and go hunting. A Baptist by faith, Sonny loved to read his Bible. He also loved his family.

Mr. Plaster is preceded in death by his daughter, Heather Marie Plaster Stjernstrom; father, Luther Benjamin Plaster; mother, Gladys Effie Emerson Plaster; sister, Bernece Smith; and brothers: James and Lloyd Plaster.

Sonny is survived by his wife, Sandra Plaster of Canton; son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin and Jennifer Plaster of Waxahachie; son, Dylan Jacob Plaster of Canton; granddaughters: Liana Lyon and Chloe Plaster; sisters: Barbara Estes and Gale Bennett, both of Canton; mother-in-law, Betty Thornton of Shepherd; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be James A. Smith, Gary Plaster, Wade Smith, Willie Thornton, Darrell Thornton, Curtis Thornton, Benjamin Plaster and Dylan Plaster. Honorary pallbearers will be A.D. Moore, Don Good, David Dunagan, Senator Bob Hall, Representative Bryan Slaton, Sheriff Steve Hendrix, Jerry Barker, Bob Hubbard and Caring Hearts Hospice.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
