

Services for Ruby Fay Morris, 87, of Canton, TX are scheduled for 2 pm Friday, February 23, 2018, at Eubank Funeral Home. Bro. David Harkins and George Decker will officiate and Earl Sides is the soloist. Interment will be at Haven of Memories Memorial Park, also in Canton, TX. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, TX.
Ruby Fay peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018.
Born on September 13, 1930, her parents were Rufus and Christine Pigg Hauerwas. On December 24, 1945 Ruby Fay married Frank Morris and they were blessed with five children.
Ruby Fay was a member of China Grove Baptist Church since 1971 and helped establish the China Grove Quilting group. Prior to that, she was a long-time member of Elam Baptist Church in Dallas, TX. Regardless of where she attended, Ruby Fay enjoyed serving and teaching in her home church.
Ruby Fay was very talented and enjoyed oil painting, sewing clothes, making stain glass windows and porcelain dolls. She particularly enjoyed playing and competing in tennis.
Preceding Ruby Fay in death were her parents, Rufus and Christine Hauerwas, husband, Frank Morris, and brother, Ed Hauerwas.
Ruby Fay is survived by her children Larry Morris and Phyllis, Shirley Johnson and Jackie, Sue Newsom and Larry, Jack Morris and Sandy and Judy Bell and Carl. Also, grandchildren, Kesha Joffre and Rod, Vicki Reitinger and Andy, Todd Newsom and Shauna, Niki Sides and Earl, Heath Morris and Shanna, Nian Smith and LaCruso, Chris Bell and Lisa, Kim Hocutt and BJ, Scott Johnson and Larissa and Amanda Swasso and Gary. She also had 29 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings Bobby Hauerwas, Nancy Baker and Ann Gentry along with many other family and friends.
Pallbearers for the service will be Taylor Reitinger, Spenser Reitinger, Alec Joffre, Peyton Joffre, Jonah Newsom, Titus Newsom, Cody Sides, Colin Sides, Christian Sides, Zackary Swasso, Nickolas Swasso and Ethan Smith.
