
Services for Samuel C. "Billy" Boynton, 93, of Fort Worth, Texas, are scheduled for 11:00 am Monday June 30, 2014 at Eubank Funeral Chapel with Rick Sitton officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton.
Burial will be in Haven of Memories, Canton, Texas.
He passed away June 28, 2014 in Fort Worth, TX.
Mr. Boynton was born January 16, 1921 in Tyler, TX, to Samuel Byrd and Mattie Denham Boynton.
Billy proudly served in the US Army from 1942-1945. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mineola and Joshua. He served as Chairman of the Board for the United Methodist Church on the Financial Committee and the Chairman of the Building Committee. He was a former President of the Optimist Club, a Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. He also served on the Mineola School Board. Billy lived in Mineola for 40 years and owned the White's Auto Store. After retiring, Billy and his wife, Louise, moved to Joshua and lived there for 10 years before moving to Sunrise Senior Living in Fort Worth.
Surviving are Daughter, Glenda Shaw of Fort Worth, TX, Daughter, Patricia Boynton of Fort Worth, TX, Son-in-law, Dennis Shaw of Joshua, TX, 2 Grandchildren: Denise Harmon & husband, Mike, David Shaw and wife, Elizabeth, 4 Great-Grandchildren: Austin Reep, Ashli Shaw, Liliana Shaw, Mark Aguirre, Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Billy was preceded in death by his Wife of 73 years, Louise Jane Boynton, Parents, 6 Sisters and 2 Brothers.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dennis Shaw, Austin Reep, David Shaw, Mike Harmon, Joe Max Green, and Joe Hagan.
