Solan Grady Sherwood

Grady passed away on August 25, 2016 in Tyler.

He was born on August 15, 1941 in Myrtle Springs to Cecil and Sarah Wood Sherwood.

Grady grew up in Myrtle Springs community and attended Edgewood High School. He joined the Air Force and was stationed at Barksdale Air Force base.

Grady served his entire career with his best friend Glen Marksberry and they remained lifelong friends. He moved to Dallas where he worked on aircraft before moving to Louisiana to work in the oilfield, eventually retiring and moving back to Canton. Grady enjoyed fishing, hunting, football, and watching his soap operas (WWF). He always looked forward to go eat fried fish on Fridays. Grady was a caring man who loved to give and loved his family.

He is preceded in death by his Father, Cecil Wesley Sherwood; Mother, Sarah Alice Young; Granddaughter, Jennifer Leighann Sherwood; Sister, Dicy Faye Yates; and Brother, Cecil Grice Sherwood Jr.

Grady is survived by his Son , John David & Charlotte Sherwood of Canton, TX; Daughter, Sherry Sherwood Frost of Broken Arrow, OK; Daughter, Sheila and Lynn Pearce of Broken Arrow, OK; Daughter, Patti & Darrell Moats of Edgewood, TX; Daughter, Sarah Sherwood of Phoenix, AZ; Son, Cecil and Laurie Sherwood of Wills Point, TX; Daughter, Jenny Rebecca Emerson of Lewisville, TX; 17 Grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren; Brother, John L. Sherwood; Brother, Wesley D. and Faye Sherwood; and Brother Steve Sherwood.

Visitation will be held on August 27, 2016 at Eubank Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Interment will be at Myrtle Springs Cemetery.
