Sue was born on April 14, 1930, in Martins Mill, Texas, to Aubra and Mattie Buford. She graduated from Martins Mill High School in 1947. In 1949, she married the love of her life, Joe Williams, and together they shared a beautiful, devoted marriage that spanned 70 wonderful years.
Sue worked for Southwestern Bell in Dallas, Texas, for eight years. Sue and Joe lived in Dallas for several years, where they lovingly raised their two children, Keith and Tanna Williams. In 1973, they returned home to Martins Mill, where Sue became a full-time homemaker and poured her heart into caring for her family and home.
Sue was known for her green thumb and could often be found working in her yard—tending to her beautiful flowers and vegetable garden. She enjoyed painting, traveling (especially trips to the beach), baking, and cooking delicious meals for every gathering. Sue also loved shopping and had a special eye for details, finding joy in the little things that made life brighter. Whether she was dressed up or working in her garden, Sue carried herself with grace and warmth. She was truly a social butterfly, deeply family-oriented, and cherished time spent with those she loved.
Most importantly, Sue was a woman of strong faith. She and Joe were longtime members of Martins Mill Baptist Church, where they devoted their lives to serving the Lord. Sue lived her faith daily through kindness, service, and love.
Sue will be remembered as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, Nanna, friend, and a beloved child of God. Her legacy of faith, love, and devotion will live on through her family for generations to come.
Sue Williams is survived by: her son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Karen Williams, and her daughter, Tanna Williams; her cherished grandchildren, Tiffany Whitus; Ryan and his wife Amanda Williams; Lynzi and her husband Tommy Edwards; Colby Remedios; and Kendra Remedios.
She is also survived by her seven great-grandchildren, Braleigh and Paisleigh Whitus; Aubrey and Krew Williams; and Deyton, Andi, and Ripp Edwards.
Sue is further survived by her nephew Randy and Brandi Shapiro, great-nephew Randall and Megan Shapiro, and great-great-nephew, Rutt Shapiro, as well as her great-nephew, Blake and Paige Shapiro. She also leaves behind a very special friend, Carlos Morales and family, along with many other beloved relatives and dear friends.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Aubra and Mattie Buford; her beloved husband, Joe Williams; her sister and brother-in-law, Maurine and Bruce Lowrie; and her son-in-law, Carlos Remedios.
