Thurman Gerald Rumbo, 81, of Ben Wheeler, Texas passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, in Tyler, Texas. He was born on November 16, 1943, in Tyler, Texas to Thurman B. Rumbo and Gertrude Garrett Rumbo.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Eubank Funeral Home, Bro. Mike Calhoun officiating. A visitation will be held one hour before the service.
Gerald honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1969 as an Aircraft Mechanic. He was a dedicated firefighter for the City of Tyler, Texas for 30 years, but his legacy is that of a hardworking man who loved the land. Gerald enjoyed riding his horses and working on his ranch, passing the love of the land down to the next generations. The best days were filled with family and love.
Those here to cherish his memory and legacy, his children: Jared Rumbo and wife, Megan, Renae Martin and husband, Jeff, Brent Rumbo; grandchildren: Cruz Martin, Ezra Martin, Eliza Martin, Jared Rumbo, Abigail Nielson and husband, Liam, Nathan Rumbo, Garrett Rumbo; brother and sister in-law, Paul and Amy Rumbo.
Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Gertrude Rumbo.
He will be laid to rest beside his parents at Concord Cemetery in Henderson County, Texas, in a graveside ceremony following the service at 4:00 p.m.
