Virginia passed away Tuesday June 13, 2017 in Tyler, TX.
She was born on March 10, 1940 in Lindale, TX to Carl James Taylor and Iva Ruth Davis.
Virginia grew up in Lindale before moving to Dallas as a young adult. She married Jimmy Joe Thomas in 1962 and they moved to Lake Tawakoni to raise their children. After attending Greenville Beauty School, Virginia owned and operated Lavender Beauty Shop in Terrell for several years. She retired in 2000 and settled in Canton. Virginia enjoyed traveling, gambling, gardening, visiting with family and talking to her sister for several hours on the phone daily. She was a member of Terrell Assembly of God and spent the last 5 years enjoying life.
She is survived by her Sons: Jim Thomas, Carl Casey, and Bart & Kelly Thomas; Daughters: Penny & Charles Griggers, and Kim Thomas; 16 Grandchildren; and Numerous Great Grandchildren, Nieces and nephews.
Virginia is preceded in death by her Parents, Carl & Iva Taylor; Husband, Jimmy Joe Thomas; Son, Marcus Casey; and 8 Brothers & Sisters.
Interment will be at Old Bethel Cemetery in Canton, TX.
Family will receive friends Friday from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
