

W.C. Hettich, 83, of Wolfe City, TX, passed away at home February 16, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 14, 1939, to Lloyd Curtis and Sybil Maude (Speed) Hettich in Peerless, Texas.
W.C. lived his life devoted to his family and the military. Married on April 12, 1962, W.C. and Mildred Louise Hettich enjoyed 55 1/2 years together. He was a generous and kind family man who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed watching old westerns and war movies and kept sharp by doing daily crossword puzzles. W.C. made sure his family knew they were loved, always telling them he was proud of them and that he loved them. W.C. was a resident of Mesquite, TX, for 25 years before moving to the South Sulphur Community where he spent the last 30 years. W.C. served this grateful nation in many capacities. He served 41 years in the Navy and Naval Reserves reaching the rank of AE1 and 8 years in the Civil Air Patrol reaching the rank of Major. He also retired after 30 years of working for Texas Power & Light (TXU).
W.C. is preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Mildred Louise Hettich; his parents, Lloyd and Maude Hettich; and his caring, adoptive parents, Oran and Geneva Gamblin.
He is survived by his loving family: son, Curtis Hettich; daughters, Veronica Goree, Sybil (Rick) Thompson; grandchildren: Casey, Alyssa, Emery, Aaron, Kelsey, Emily, Joshua; great grandchildren: Abbey, Anna, Harley Jr.; sisters: Bobbi Jo Owens, Janice Stevenson; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family will have a Celebration of Life service at a later date.
