

Alexander Anthony Mosakowski, age 100, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022. Alexander was born on June 13, 1922 in Sayreville, New Jersey to Kathryn Gruboski and Boleslaw Mosakowski.
In 1940, Alexander graduated from South River High School in South River, New Jersey. He started a career as a Pipe Fitter at Hercules Powder Company in 1941. He then enlisted in the United States Army as Private First Class on November 19, 1942. He defended and served his country in World War II until he was given Honorable Discharge on December 8, 1945. Alexander was awarded the following recognitions through the US Army: American Service medal, European African Middle Eastern Service medal, Good Conduct medal, World War II Victory medal, and Rifle medal. He also received a letter from President Harry S. Truman recognizing him for his service to his country. Afterwards, he returned to Hercules Powder Company and continued working there until his retirement in 1976. Alexander had 10 children, 8 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. He was an avid baseball player, bowler, and golfer. He also spent his time coaching little leagues and was an umpire. Alexander was a devout Christian and loved reading his Bible daily and going to church. He enjoyed traveling with his wife around the country, dancing, playing board games, working on puzzles, and spending time with his family. He was known by many as Alex, Al, or Moe. His family and friends often speak of his many wonderful traits - he was brave, resilient, dependable, witty, handsome, hardworking, loyal, and honest.
Alexander is preceded in death by his parents, Kathryn and Boleslaw; his first wife, Gloria Polon (m. 1949, dec. 1963); his second wife, Concetta Ferruchia (m. 1967, dec. 2011); his children with first wife Gloria: Thomas (Mildred), Daniel (Janet), David, Chris (Ginny), and Peter (Beth); his child with second wife Concetta: Kathy; his siblings Mary Maus, Ann Dzegoski, Cecile Gizicki, Teresa Banka, Anthony Mosakowski, and Edward Mosakowski.
Alexander is survived by his children Beth Salmon (Wayne), Donald (Terrie), Alice Henderson (Bill), and Paul. His grandchildren are Diane Mosakowski, Jennifer Myers, Melissa Zsebe, Daniel Mosakowski, Katie Mosakowski, Joey Mosakowski, Holly Mosakowski, and Alexander Mosakowski. His great grandchildren are Olivia Myers, Cullen Zsebe, Jeyanah Mosakowski, Raegan Zsebe, Naomi Mosakowski, Kia Mosakowski, Jack Mosakowski, and Willow Mosakowski.
Alexander Mosakowski's Celebration of Life service will take place on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 promptly at 6:00pm at Coral Ridge Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 950 Chiquita Blvd. S., Cape Coral, FL 33991. Condolences and flowers may be sent to the funeral home.
The family will be laying him to rest in a private ceremony at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on Friday, January 13, 2023.
