Aurora "Rory" Inez Olsen

Aurora Inez “Rory” Olsen, 83, of Pine Island, FL passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 10, 2010. She was born on April 19, 1926 in Boston, MA to Nicholas and Rosina (Panetta) Calla. She graduated from Sharon High School and met her husband at the Christmas party for Jordan Marsh & Co., a Boston department store. They married in 1949 and later moved to New York City; Yonkers; Bethlehem, PA; and Nashville, TN. She worked as a bank teller until 1987, when they retired and moved to Florida. During retirement, she worked many years as a polling officer for Lee County elections. She was an avid jogger, outdoor enthusiast, and traveler.

She is survived by her loving family including her husband, Roy I. Olsen; two sons, Peter and his wife, Teresa of Cape Coral and Douglas and his wife, Susan of Washington D.C.; her sister, Mary Mead; five grandchildren, Jeremy Olsen, Erin Olsen, Kevin Olsen and Patrick Olsen of Cape Coral and Nicholas Olsen of Tempe, Arizona; and three great grandchildren, Aliva, Avery and Carter.
