

Bernard Roy Taylor began his Earthly journey in the year of our Lord 1924 on September 23rd, to Aston Taylor and Adina Green - Taylor. He was the second child of his parents born in Kingston, Jamaica W.I at Kingston hospital. He attended Shortwood Practising School. After graduating from school Roy gained employment at NWC Jamaica (Jamaica Water Commission) where he maintained employment for ten years. In 1950 Roy married Olga Wilson – Taylor. From this union was born to him a son Michael Taylor and a daughter Eartha Joy Taylor.
In 1962 Roy emigrated to England where he was employed as a certified crane operator and met his future bride Patricia Henry. On August 13th, 1966, they were wed in Holy matrimony and in 1967, Roy and his bride immigrated to Las Vegas, Nevada. Once settled in Las Vegas Roy began work at White Cross Pharmacy, it was not long before Roy soon moved his family to Miami, Florida. In Miami he regained employment as a certified crane operator. Roy was a skilled craftsman in various trades including painter and polisher.
Roy loved his god and he had the good old Advent truth deep in his heart that his dear mother and father taught him from a child where he attended Shortwood Seventh Day Adventist Church in Kingston, Jamaica. He loved the old hymns and one of his favorites was” I Found A Friend.” Roy knew his bible and was baptized in the year of our Lord, 2000, in Kingston Jamaica, West Indies as a S.D.A. Roy was a man of few words but, when he spoke it was right to the point. He loved to eat and he especially loved rice and peas. Roy will be dearly missed by all.
On August 3rd, 2013 Bernard Roy Taylor ended his Earthly journey and joined his Mother Adina Green Taylor, Father Aston Taylor, his sisters Dorothy Taylor – Thomas, Petronia Taylor – Nelson, and Marcia Taylor – Tugwell. He is survived by his wife Patricia Henry - Taylor, his brothers George Taylor (Mavis), Robert Taylor (Cislyn) and Sidney Taylor (Cheryl). Roy is survived by his son Michael Taylor (Jaye), his daughter Eartha Joy Taylor Williams – McElvaine (Victor), Lenny Johnson (Elaine). Grand children Michelle, Vernon, Kristadawn, and Kenyatta (Eartha Joy.) Jacqueline, Felecia, Jackie, Camillia (Michael.) Caroline, Michael, Matthew, Monique, Nikiah, Quweyaed, Quwadan, Jeffery, Danielle (Lenny.) Roy is also survived by an abundance of great grandchildren, great – great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of cherished friends and church family.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm on Saturday, August 17th at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral. Funeral services will be celebrated at 1 PM on Sunday, August 18th at Seventh-day Adventist Church of Cape Coral, 1813 El Dorado Parkway West, Cape Coral, with burial to follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery, Cape Coral.
