

She was born in Berlin, Germany on October 15, 1927. After High School she went to work in the health insurance industry. She married her husband of almost 60 years, Charlie, while he was stationed in Germany serving with the United States Army. After their daughter was born, they moved back to the United States, eventually settling in Toledo, Ohio where she worked for J.C. Penney for 17 years.
Charlotte and her husband moved to Cape Coral in 1995 to be near her daughter and family. She was a member of Abiding Love Lutheran Church for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie and sister Edith Klein. She is survived by her daughter Christine Shank (Charles); grandchildren Nicole Fenske (Ben), Rod Shank (Julie), Ryan Shank (Kelly); 7 great Grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, as well as, 2 nieces in Germany.
A Funeral Service for Charlotte will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 inside the Chapel at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 950 Chiquita Boulevard S, Cape Coral, FL 33991, (239) 283-0540. Friends are welcome to begin gathering for this service at 10:30 AM also inside the Funeral Home Chapel. At the conclusion of these services friends and family will recess to Mausoleum A South located inside the Honor Garden at adjacent Coral Ridge Cemetery where Charlotte will be laid to rest alongside her dearly departed husband Charlie who passed away in 2014.
