In 1946, she married her first husband, William H. Winzenread, a lieutenant in the United States Army. Their marriage spanned forty-one happy years until his passing.
As an Army wife, Marcie embraced a life of adventure and service, traveling and living in many parts of the world, including Germany, Guam, and Alaska. When Bill retired from the Army in 1963, they settled in sunny Cape Coral, among the city’s early residents.
In 1970, Marcie and Bill joined Palmetto Pine Country Club as its 40th members when the club first opened. Marcie loved playing golf and bridge with her dear friends at the country club and proudly served as President of the Ladies Association for the 1992–1993 season. An avid and accomplished golfer, Marcie was blessed to score five holes-in-one, a feat she delighted in sharing with family and friends.
Marcie was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, William Winzenread; her second husband, William Kirkpatrick; and three beloved sons, Dean Winzenread, Ronnie Winzenread, and Dale Winzenread.
