So sorry to hear of this. Dr. West was my doctor for 4 years . He was an amazing doctor and person. Never rushed an appointment, knew his patients needs and how they thought about health care.
On my first appointment he had read and took notes on my whole history (was 55 at this time) and he knew it backwards and forwards. 
He is the perfect example of what a physician should be! 
I am saddened

We were so sad to hear about Dr. West's passing.  He was an excellent physician totally dedicated to his patients.   He always went the extra mile,  with a follow up call, a visit to the hospital and covering all the bases.  We have him to thank for ordering extra tests that otherwise would have had life threatening results.  
He was a nice man.  He will be greatly missed.

I still can't believe Dr. West is gone, my heart breaks for his family. I had the privilege of working with him over the last five plus years.  He was definitely devoted to all his patients past or present, always went out of his way to get things done like yesterday.  He became my doctor as well so I know first hand how he put his patients need first. He will be sorely missed in the office.

David served as a trusted friend and doctor for over 20 years.  He was dedicated to helping us with any medical problem we encountered and would make it a point to visit us in the hospital when we were patients there.  He would go out his way to serve us numerous times!  He will be missed!!

My wife Barbara and myself Steve Stiles were shocked to hear about Doctor West passing. We are in Clewiston and Doc had become a close friend. I could speak of many many examples of Doc going way above and beyond the norm of availability of a health care professional. He was so important to all of us in Clewiston, we all have called him late at night and or on a weekend. I do not know of anytime that we were ignored or postponed until Monday. We are praying for his Family we will surely miss him . May God take care of him and his Family.

Our hearts and prayers are with your family!  Dr. West was not only our Doctor but our friend!  He was truly gifted as a Doctor and cared so much about his patients.  My husband Trevor and he had a mutual connection to Australia as Trevor is from Melbourne Australia and his Dad is in the same cemetery as Dr Wests Grandparents where we know he visited often.  He loved his meat pies!  He will be truly missed by our family as well many many others!  Big hugs!

It is rare, indeed when  a physician-patient becomes like a brother to his Primary Care Doctor.  But such was the relationship between Dr. West and I.  A visit was not just an encounter but a kaleidoscope of reminiscing ,complete with levity and gravity.  I always left with a big smile on my face, always impressed with this outstanding physicians knowledge and clinical acumen.  I will miss Dr West always and cherish my time with him.

There is no greater testament to a wonderful man than his loving family and Dr West was truly blessed with a devoted and loving family. I know his physical presence will be missed but he will always be in their hearts

We are heartbroken. Dr West was more than just our doctor. He was also our friend. On more than one occasion he would show up at our son Tyler’s baseball games to watch him play. My husband and I respected Dr. West very much and appreciated his thorough care and devotion to his patients.  He was honest and upfront and it was obvious that he cared for our wellbeing.  He made me laugh at every appointment!  My most recent one, he congratulated me on losing weight and reaching my goal, which he informed me he had wrote down in my file to “keep us both honest.”  🤣 
 My condolences to his family and friends, and to the patients that will all miss him as well.

Dan and I will miss our dear neighbor.  From the first day we moved next door Dave was welcoming and friendly.  He loved our dogs as well. It was so touching when he asked us to come say goodbye to Rocky.  Dave was also especially helpful when we navigated through Covid precautions and protection. Dave will be missed. We send our deepest condolences to  Rosy, ,James,and Katie.

We are so very sorry with Dave's passing it was such a shock and loss. I have gotten to know him over the last year and 2 months quite well. I enjoyed our regular talks and interactions about patients ,life ,families and the state of the world. I enjoyed learning about his family both past and present and wish I could have taken advantage of his offer to show me Australia. I will try my best to fill his shoes as a great of a doctor as he was.  I wish we were going to be able to attend the service but we have a family wedding we are going back to Illinois for and will be gone. Dr. David West was a kind man that had his own opinions of medicine that was impeccable and out of the ordinary who focused on the care or the patients rather than the politics of the practice.  I trusted him and admired his ethics.  He taught me alternatives and how to cope with various conditions leading to my migraines subsiding!  Great man which was always thoughtful and kind.  Successful and honest.  Thinking of him gone sends shock and disbelief.  I want to express how significant he was to my family and I.  A dear friend and confidante.  Trustworthy great family man always expressing his devotion for them. I am truly sorry for their loss and god Bless you all in your time of grief.  

From a professional standpoint David was beyond successful for he was respected and genuinely cared.  I will always remember him.

I met David at the VA Hospital Bay Pines, St. Petersburg, Florida in the spring of 1992.  It was in the commissary at noon.  He was interviewing for a staff hospitalist position and joined us for lunch.  With his first words with his New York accent,  I knew that I would like this guy.  We became good friends for 32 years.  I wish his wife and children better times.
