

He was born October 25th, 1959, in Hammond, IN and lived in Lansing, IL, Brookfield WI, then Coral Springs, FL since the mid-1970s before moving to Southwest Florida in the 1990s.
He worked as an extremely hard-working Master Plumber for over 40 years in SE and SW Florida. Douglas enjoyed boating and fishing. He was a gifted mechanical and electronics technician and hobbyist in virtually every form of technology. He was a member of the RC club “Cape Coral R/Sea Hawks” and enjoyed building and flying many types of radio-controlled aircraft. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and hand-crafting custom gold jewelry.
He is best remembered as a devoted and loving father to his son Jason and always worked as hard as possible being an excellent dad. His kindness and huge heart were appreciated by everyone that met him and cherished by his entire family.
He was preceded in death by his father Alfred, mother Louise (Turza), stepfather Ambrose Turza, sister Sharon Scott and brother Alfred.
He is survived by his beloved son Jason, sister Barbara Monaldi Schweitzer, brothers Greg and Jeff as well as several nephews and a niece.
Douglas did not want a memorial service but hoped to be remembered by how he lived his life, which was always with dignity, class, and respect for others.
