

Ernesto Fernandez Mesa
Ernesto Fernandez Mesa, 85, died on October 21, 2018 at Calusa Harbour in Fort
Myers, Florida.
Ernesto was born in Oriente, Cuba in 1933 to the late Francisco and Adela Fernandez,
the fourth of five brothers. Throughout his distinguished career, he worked as an
electronics technician for companies such as NBC and IBM . He enjoyed gardening
and sharing his love of watching things grow with his family. Everyone who knew him
enjoyed his unique sense of humor, his love of good music and his exuberance for life.
Ernesto was also a great tinkerer and fixer of all things mechanical. Later in life, he
joyfully discovered his spiritual calling through the teachings of Rudolf Steiner and his
works on anthroposophy. Ernesto became an ardent student of its tenets on
intellectual and philosophical development.
Ernesto is survived by his four children and their spouses, Eduardo (Alice) Fernandez,
Lourdes Fernandez, Maria (Daniel) Bachman and Beatriz (Richard) Tomlinson, his
grandchildren Lyndsay, Paul, Kaila, Maria, Amy and Marielle, as well as his devoted
brothers Guillermo and Roberto Fernandez. He was preceded in death by his brothers
Carlos and Alfredo Fernandez.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will take place
at 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Hope Hospice Chapel in Cape Coral, Florida,
followed by a repast for family and friends to share fellowship and memories.
