Fatima Da Mota

She was the wife of Joe da Mota with whom she shared 49 years of marriage.

Fatima was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal. She was the daughter of the late Edgardo C. Cabral, and Luiza dos Santos Tome. She moved to Westport, MA in 1966 and then to Cape Coral, FL where she resided for over 30 years. She worked as a seamstress for many years, along with being a homemaker.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by their 5 children, Joe da Mota, Jr. (Tracey), Paula Gonzalez (Willie), Robin da Mota, Brian da Mota (Wilsa) and Tanya da Mota; 11 grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters; a brother Edgardo J. Cabral; a sister-in-law Luisa Tavares (Antone) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will honor Fatima’s life at Coral Ridge Funeral Home and Cemetery, 950 Chiquita Blvd., S., Cape Coral, FL 33991 on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 with calling hours from 6-8 p.m., a funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 10 a.m., calling1 hour prior.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations in Fatima’s name be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; UHealth Diabetes Research Institute, 1450 NW 10th Ave., Miami, FL 33136, or the American Cancer Society, 4575 Via Royale Suite 110, Fort Myers, FL 33919.
