Guy was born in Amityville, New York, the proud son to Helen (Schlosser) and and Harold Kasten. After graduating from Hicksville High School, Guy served in the U.S. Navy where he deployed multiple times to both Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and McMurdo Station, Antarctica. After the Navy, Guy was an electrician for 40 years. His favorite spot in the whole wide world to relax and vacation was Niagara Falls, at least before he had enough with cold weather and decided to move to Florida to be close to his two children and four grandchildren. Guy was a lover of music and was known to fiddle with an instrument or two, but he really enjoyed playing the drums, unless he was pursuing his other favorite hobby of Model Trains.
He was the devoted husband to Kathleen Lorraine (Rossi) Kasten whom he leaves to cherish his loving memory. He is also survived by his sons, Eddie (Dayna) Kasten, Joey Kasten; grandchildren Tyler, Ryan, Nicole, and Thomas; many extended family members and a multitude of others who were proud to call him a friend.
A Memorial Service for Guy will be celebrated by Pastor Bob Lockwood at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 29, 2024 inside the Chapel at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 950 Chiquita Boulevard S, Cape Coral, Florida 33991, (239) 283-0540. Friends are invited to begin gathering for this ceremony beginning at 10:00 AM also inside the funeral home chapel. At the conclusion of this service, friends and family will recess to adjacent Coral Ridge Cemetery where Guy will receive Military Funeral Honors from the United States Navy. At the conclusion of his tribute for being a member of the Armed Forces, Guy will be laid to rest in the Garden of Remembrance.
