Son of the late Raymond Darville and the late Jacqueline Darville, brother of Ray "Kip" Darville and the late Debra (Darville) Singer. He was the loving uncle of Leah Singer of St. George, Utah and Cara Singer of Parsonsfield, Maine and brother-in law of Steven M. Singer of Peabody, Massachusetts. He was the loving uncle of Nicole and Jack Darville and loving brother-in-law to their mother, Elanie Barreto. He was also loving uncle of Ray Darville, Jr., Brandon Darville, Jonathon Darville, Rachel Darville, Ryan Darville and Patrick Darville. He was the great uncle of Jake Darville, Kyla Darville, Ivey Darville and Samuel Darville. He was the loving parent of his two dogs Teyla and Mikey and his two cats Cosette and Emma. Jack loved his family and cared dearly for his close friends. He was the consummate “great guy”.
Jack was the master tenderer of his garden, especially his magnificent orchids. Jack relished his home improvement projects that he spent years on that transformed his residence from a distressed property to one of beauty, indoors and out. He created a loving home filled with fond memories with family and friends, including his furry children.
Jack had recently retired from a long career in the computer software industry as a Senior Programmer and an Analyst most recently employed with DXC Technology.
Jack loved life in all respects. He was an adventurer in the outdoors, having traveled to some exotic dive locations exploring natures coral reefs and underwater sea life. At various times an avid boater and windsurfer and a volunteer with a local organization caring for dolphins. He was all hands on when it came to renovating his house which never seemed to stop even most recently during the many years that he lived there. His passion for his garden was unmatched and the many exotic plants and flowers owe him a debt of gratitude for all of his TLC.
While dealing with many health issues over the last several years, he persevered with unwavering strength to continue to enjoy life and dealt with these challenges without skipping a beat. And in that vein, he did extraordinary things to help his sister Debi in her battle with muscular dystrophy. He would continue to do anything for anyone that needed him, and would not let anything get the way of his desire to be there for his family, friends and furry children. His huge heart and his passion for treating all persons with respect and kindness will long be remembered. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Donations in Jack’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
