James is survived by his wife of thirteen years Deborah Schultz-Shirey. His two children, Teresa Butler and Mike Shirey; grandchildren Heather Vester, Tara Goens spouse Justin, Scott Vester and Anthony Maxey; great grandchildren Alexis Skirvin, Ireland Goens, Gatlin Goens, Scottie Vester and Adalynn Vester; great, great grandchildren Noah, Xander, Jett and Anakin Skirvin.
James was the proud owner of Alco Builders and Unique Windows and Doors in Indianapolis, IN. After selling his business he moved to FL in 1992 with his late wife Judith Shirey who sadly passed in 2007. James loved to boat, fish, play euchre, travel and dance. James followed two sayings in life: Power of positive thinking and a body in motion stays in motion. These sayings played a role in the longevity of his life. He was loved by many and will be missed by many.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 11-3 at the Cape Cabaret; 4725 Vincennes Blvd., Cape Coral, FL 33904. Lunch will be served and Richie C will provide entertainment which is exactly what Jim wanted as a celebration of his life.
