Jenny is survived by her brothers Scott Wesley Alexander (Linda), Henry Felix Alexander, and Suzanne (Tim) Poe as well as 12 nieces and nephews, several grandnieces, and nephews, as well as 2 uncles, and several cousins.
Born with Down Syndrome, Jenny’s family immediately realized they had been blessed with someone special. She was the light around which they all were all made better. Jenny officially released her Canadian citizenship at age 18. Jenny’s first big road trip was from Edmonton to Key West, Florida. The family then resided in the US Virgin Islands before moving to Indiana when Jenny was about 2. Jenny graduated from Garrett High School in 1985. The family then had a stay in California and Florida before Jenny returned to Butler Indiana in 2010 until her death.
Jenny was loved by so many and loved many. She made many friends in the community as a grocery bagger for 20 years in Florida and had an active social life with Special Populations of Cape Coral, Florida. Jenny was an avid bowler and participated regularly in Special Olympics in Florida. Jenny was a passionate football fan. If she loved you, she would adopt your football team and cheer for your team unless they were playing Tampa Bay. Tim Tebow was her hero.
Jenny brought life and joy to every community with her bright smile and unconditional love. Her compassion and gentleness brought out the best in those who knew her well and others who only knew her for a minute. Losing Jenny means her family has lost the best in all of us. Remembering Jenny, means remembering to carry on her light, love, and zest for life.
