Born on August 30, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, Joanne was the beloved daughter of the late Ralph and Gertrude (née Williams) Merrick. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Jim Cullen, with whom she shared a loving marriage until his passing in 2002.
Joanne lived a vibrant and spirited life, filled with joy, laughter, and deep devotion to her family. She found happiness in the simple pleasures—playing BINGO, trying her luck at the casino, strolling Sanibel Beach, boating under the Florida sun, and sharing her love through cooking and baking. Her kitchen was often the heart of the home, filled with the aroma of fresh pies and the warmth of her generous spirit.
Above all, Joanne was a proud and dedicated mother and grandmother. She was a constant presence in the lives of her children and grandchildren, attending school events, cheering from the sidelines at sporting games, and offering unwavering support and love. Her legacy is one of kindness, strength, and a deep commitment to family.
Joanne will be remembered for her infectious laugh, her generous heart, and the countless memories she created with those she loved. Her absence leaves a profound void, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly and her granddaughter, Amanda.
Joanne is survived by her four loving children, Danny Cullen, Scott Cullen, Gary Cullen and his wife, Coni, and Lynann Martin and her husband, Kevin; five grandchildren, Michael and his wife, Heather, Jacob, Dylan, Gavin and Heather; one great grandson, Cole; as well as many extended family members and friends.
