José Emilio Muñiz passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on March 15, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on November 12, 1939, in Lares, Puerto Rico, he was a resident of Cape Coral, Florida.
José honorably served in the United States Army and carried that same sense of duty, discipline, and quiet strength into every part of his life. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose steady presence anchored his family.
José is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Milagros (Pauli); his sons, José and Harold; and his daughters, Myriam, Wanda, Sandra, and Millie. He is also remembered by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family who will miss him deeply.
A Memorial Service will be held at Heritage Community Church in Fruitland Park, Florida on April 17th, 2026 at 9:30 am. Followed by the burial with Military Honors at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at 1:30 pm.
