Joseph Dominick Murillo

Joseph Dominick Murillo passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, April 10, 2026. “Uncle Joe” as he was known to most everybody, enjoyed the past nine years living in Cape Coral with his nephew, Rich M. Dantona, niece in law Amy Hoff, and great niece and nephew Myla and Dominick Dantona. Joe was 73 years old at the time of his passing.

Joseph was born on October 2, 1952, in Queens, New York, the proud son to Dominick and Dolores Murillo. He graduated from East Islip High School in 1970. In his younger years, Joe enjoyed being around family and friends, working on cars and repairing things. His main enjoyment throughout life was helping other people and that spirit continued strongly after moving to Florida in 2002.

Preceded in death by his mother, Dolores Murillo and father, Dominick Murillo, Joe is survived by his daughter, Nicole Murillo and son, Vincent Murillo; sister Laura Monahan of Cape Coral, FL (Michael Zurla), brother Michael Murillo of Islip Terrace, NY (Donna Murillo) and brother Dean Murillo.

Joseph is also survived by 5 grandchildren- Jaycee, Charles, Sophia, Daniel and Leo along with several nieces and nephews- Richard Michael Dantona, Kristine Murillo, Michael Murillo, Kevin and Kelly Monahan. He also leaves behind numerous extended family members and a great many others who were proud to call him a friend.

A Visitation for Joe will take place from 1:00 -3:00 PM on Saturday, April 18, 2026 inside the Remembrance Events Center at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 950 Chiquita Blvd. S, Cape Coral, FL 33991, (239) 283-0540. A Celebration of Life Service officiated by Deacon Edison Gibbons will immediately follow at 3:00 PM also inside the funeral home chapel. All who knew Joe or his beloved family are welcome to attend, pay their respects and offer personal condolences to his family.
