She was valedictorian of her senior class at Summerville High School in 1940. Josephine attended Rome Business School. Upon completion, she moved to Washington, DC where she worked for the FBI during WWII. This is where she caught the eye of Hedrick “Bud” Wolford and subsequently married in 1944.
“Bud” and “Jo” lived in Virginia where they raised their two children Steven (Lynn) and Sheryl (Garrett) until 1976 when they retired to Cape Coral, Florida.
After Bud’s death, “Josie” relocated to Virginia to be close to her daughter. She was a resident of Bellaire at Stone Port, Harrisonburg, VA.
Besides her two children, Josephine leaves behind to cherish her memory four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private service was held at Lindsey Funeral Home, Harrisonburg. She will be entombed at Coral Ridge Cemetery, Cape Coral, FL.
