

Larry attended Murray State University. While there he became a member of the PI KAPPA ALPHA fraternity, graduating with a Bachelors of Science, mathematics and chemistry degree.Continuing to further his education he received a Masters of Arts, mathematics teacher education. In 1981 Larry earned a Doctor of Education (EdD.) educational leadership and administration from Saint Louis University.
After graduating from Murray State he moved to Missouri and started his career taking a Mathematics teaching job at Mccluer High School in the Ferguson-Florissant School District.Then becoming an administrator at Cross Keys Middle School. Leaving that district Larry went to the Francis Howell School District as Vice Principal at Francis Howell High School, Principal at Barnwell Middle School, and Francis Howell North High School, where he played a huge role in getting that school up and running. In 1991 with that district he received the Administrator of the Year award.In 1992 he moved to the Hazelwood School District as the Director of Secondary Education.It was in this district he reached the pinnacle of his career as A very loved and very respected Superintendent that made that district thrive. Under his leadership strong academic programs prospered. He always displayed a genuine affection for students, parents, and employees. He always loved and put first his family and friends and rarely turned down a game of golf.
Larry was preceded in death by his father George, his mother Virginia (Jenny), and his brother Kent. He is survived by his loving beautiful wife of 54 years Beverly, his son Shayne and his significant other Janet, son Blake and wife Shannon, and grandchildren Tre', Lizzy, Jacey, Shane, and Emily. He will be dearly missed and loved for eternity.
