Hard to believe that a year has past.  I know you are at peace and watching over your " boys" every moment and still guiding them with love.  You certainly were an inspiration to me during my "journey".  I gained another Angel but I miss you Linda!

Our deepest sympathies to Linda's boys, family and dearest friends.  I met Linda for the first time about a year ago while visiting our family on vacation in Florida.  She had come to know our family very well through the Elks.  Linda always made an effort to come over and sit with all of us... getting to know each and every one of us on an individual basis.  My Grandparents, my Aunts and Uncles... and especially my Dad (David "Bear" Gossett).  I remember sharing my wedding album, my Dad's birthday celebration and even chicken dinner night at the Elks during one of our visits.  She was such a gracious lady, so genuine and kind.  

There were many times when my Dad and her were the only ones at the Tiki and they shared so many stores about their kids, having family in Michigan and Florida, etc.  So, when we had finally met... it was as if we had known each other forever.  Linda always said to us "What a great family you have!"  Coming from a lady that was so loved, cared for and looked up to... that was honestly the best compliment anyone could have received.  I feel honored to have known Linda (even for such a short time).  Her family and friends were so very blessed to have her in their lives.  She was a remarkable woman... God bless her heart.  

To Linda... You will be missed deeply, remembered fondly and always bring a smile to the faces of those you loved.  It was a pleasure and an honor to have known you.  Most of all... for a being a wonderful friend to my Dad.  He always looked forward to seeing you, respected, admired and thought very highly of you.  Our family loved you and appreciated the time we had together.  It is with great sadness that we heard of your passing... but, I assure you my Papa will be one of the many to greet you with open arms in heaven.  Godspeed xo

My late husband and I met Linda about 10 to 12 years ago when we visited the Punta Gorda ELKS for the first time.  As was a custom for us we inquired about the Lodge Shirts as we usually purchased them from each Lodge we visited in our travels.  They had one that would fit my husband but not one for me. Linda had a new one and offered to sell that one to me.  I said okay as I would change the name on it. I never did get to change the name it is still in my closet and will now stay there to remind me of a very special friend.  We moved to Englewood, FL in 2001 and would visit the lodge once in awhile on a Fri or Sat for dinner.  After my husband died I could not bring myself to go back.  Finally 2 yrs ago I did go back and Linda was working.  After the band had packed up and most of the members were gone we talked for awhile.  We became friends and Linda is a friend I will always miss.  Linda's smile was contagious.  She was the kind of person that could cheer you up no matter how you felt. You will always be in my heart and mind.  To your sons,family and friends I offer my heartfelt condolences.  Linda I know will be missed by many.

Ken & I are deeply saddened by the loss of such a wonderful woman, Our Linda, who we knew @ The Elks for many years.  Linda was a real Cutie!  Her raspy voice just added to her ever-contagious charm, as little as she was! Linda had a special Gift in seeing the Good in everyone, no matter who or what they were.  She never spoke negatively about anyone!  I feel honored to have shared in her journey to better health.  She befriended everyone, and we saw her give many hugs to her many Elks' members coming & going.  Her sons were Her World and they kept her going onward.  Linda will forever be looking over them throughout their lives, and hopefully they always feel her in their hearts.  The Punta Gorda Elks Lodge will never be the same, but those who knew her will still feel her presence.  This place has such a good vibe from the past; her spirit will visit us often.

Linda always remembered me at times during my "journey" of cancer even though she was fighting it herself, she never gave up and let it get her down. WOW, what a "fighter" she was. Praying for her family to continue the legacy she left them and find some peace in knowing she is free from pain. I know her co-workers are devastated to lose Linda but she is watching over them every moment and celebrating in heaven with other Angels.

My family and I can't get over the passing of your mom.  It seems like there was so many more good times to share with her and you guys.  I will never forget the time she gave me that golden whistle as a soccer coach or the way she beamed when Austin scored that goal on his birthday or when RJ walked through the balloons as a senior on the soccer team. I have a story to tell about my very good friend of 25 years!   When she worked at the Good Times in Punta Gorda, the owner Donna fave her a Bachlorette party!   They rented a horse drawn carriage. After the carriage ride, the unhitched the horse, which was indeed like a Clysdale!.....The double doors of the Good Times opened up and low and behold....in came Linda on the top of that huge horse and into the bar!    I will never forget that memory and all the love that Linda shared with me!    May God Bless U and keep U forever in his care! For the 13 - 14 years that I have been staying at the Punta Gorda Elks,I use to call Linda, Brenda Lee she looked like her and had that soft voice. The last 10 years or so Linda would give me a hug when I arrived for my stay. On my depature, Linda would give me a hug good - bye. When I was talking to Cheryl last Tuesday (July 17) we were talking about how she was and knew that she didn't have long to go, about that time I heard a song on the radio (WCVU) it was Brenda Lee singing and I just lost it.
Linda was a sweet and caring person. I never heard a bad word from anyone about her. She was a one of a kind, a true lady. There are not many like Linda. 
I feel so bad that I cannot be there for her Memorial. My wife and I have a wedding to go to back here in Massachusetts. My thoughts will be with here not just that day, but everday, espically when I arrive in Punta Gorda in February. I will miss her. My regrets to her sons Austin and P.J., and the rest of her family.
I also want to send my sympathies to all her co-workers at the Punta Gorda Elks, I am sure that they will miss her greatly.
