Louis William Galpin, Sr.

Galpin Sr., Louis William, 72, of Cape Coral and a longtime resident of Huntington, CT. passed away February 22, 2011 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Louis was born in Stratford, CT where he graduated school and entered the Navy. After his service in the Navy, he attended Bridgeport Engineering Institute Technical School. He met and married Gail Detuzzi of Milford. He was a retiree of Machlett Labs, Stanford, CT. Louis loved to spend his time hunting, fishing, with his children. Louis was a longtime member of the Fairfield County Rod and Gun Club where he entered several field trials winning trophies with his 2 Brittany Spaniels. In 2004, Louis and Gail followed their children to Cape Coral, FL where Louis enjoyed the warm weather, walks around the neighborhood with his dog ”Tia”. He especially enjoyed a night out tripping the light fantastic with Gail. Louis will be deeply missed by his wife of 49 years, Gail, daughter: Linda (Jason) Hoydilla of FL, Sons; Louis Jr.of FL and Matthew (Ampy) of NY, 4 grandchildren; Madison, James, Connor, and Cameron. Louis was known for his friendliness, love of his wife and family, pets and the outdoors and being the “Best dad” there ever was. Funeral Service 3:00PM Saturday February 26, 2011 at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 SW Pine Island Road, Cape Coral. Family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00PM.
