After an 8-month battle with lung cancer, Margaret Williamson Henry, age 75, passed away on May 25, 2024. Margaret was a long-time resident of Pine Island and Cape Coral, having moved here with her parents in the early 1960s and then residing here on and off throughout her life. She graduated Magna Cum Lade from Old Dominion University in Virginia with a Master of Science in Accounting, was a CPA, held senior accounting positions at several public and private companies and then finished her career working for family at Williamson and Sons Marine Construction and Williamson Brothers.
Margaret was preceded in death by her son, Baby boy Henry, her father, DeLoyd Elze Williamson, her mother Virgina Emily Williamson, her brother James Elze Williamson, her sister Mary DeAnne Williamson, her sister-in-law Rhonda Williamson, several nephews, a niece and a grand-nephew. She is survived by her brothers Johnny Williamson, Joe Williamson, Raymond Williamson, and George Williamson; her daughter Catherine Ashley Allen, her son-in-law, Matthew Emmett Sturgis, her grandson Jacob Henry Allen, her granddaughter Emily Claire Allen and more than 40 nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Margaret loved her family deeply and was known for showing that love through acts of service. She lived to help and support those she loved. If you needed help with your taxes, cleaning and organizing, planning an event, studying for a licensing exam, or even someone to give you straightforward, direct, no-nonsense advice, she was there for you.
Little kids were drawn to her and she enjoyed nothing more than spending time with babies and children. On more than one occasion she took a car full of kids to Disney World, Silver Springs, Ichetucknee Springs, Sun Splash, putt-putt golf, camping and the movies. Margaret loved to be in the middle of family gatherings and always had a story or joke to share. She had a reputation of being a bit of a sandbagger when it came to pool, card games and Scrabble. Her love of reading and movies was also well known.
Margaret had a life that was well lived and full. She worked hard, she loved harder, and she left her mark on everyone that knew and loved her.
