Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Marthe was a beacon of strength, wisdom, and compassion who touched countless lives as a dedicated registered nurse, teacher, baker, seamstress and business owner.
Marthe leaves behind a loving family who were the center of her world: her daughters Arnelle Castro and Amy Cesar-Netzly, and her son Gerald Prophet. She was a proud and doting grandmother to Aaliyah "LeLe" Castro, Ayla Castro, Jonhatan "Macho" Castro Jr., and Emmitt Netzly, who brought immeasurable joy to her life.
Marthe adored her brothers Pierre, Fritz, Guy, and Ernst, and her sister Josette. She maintained close bonds with her siblings throughout her life. Her love extended generously to her nieces and nephews, whom she treasured and welcomed with open arms as vital extensions of her family circle.
Known as the rock of her family, Marthe instilled in her children the values of self-sufficiency, independence, consideration, and compassion. She taught them to respect themselves and to maintain dignity by keeping private matters private. Her wisdom and guidance were treasured by all who knew her, as she always had the perfect words of comfort and advice for any situation.
Throughout her career as a registered nurse, Marthe always aspired to teach others. This dream was realized when she earned her master's degree in education, allowing her to combine her passion for healthcare with her love of teaching.
Marthe's fierce independence and determination to live life on her own terms were defining characteristics that inspired those around her. Her natural ability to bring people together created lasting bonds among family and friends. Her warm presence, gentle guidance, and unwavering support will be profoundly missed.
Though her family will never be the same without her steadfast presence, Marthe's legacy lives on through the values she instilled and the love she shared so generously.
A visitation for Marthe will be held Monday, April 14th at Coral Ridge Funeral Home and Cemetery, 950 Chiquita Blvd. S, Cape Coral, FL 33991, between the hours of 11 - 12pm with service and burial to follow.
