

Mary Elizabeth Kemp, 80, of St. James City, Florida and Spencer, OH passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, in Fort Myers, Florida. She was born on October 29, 1935 in New Haven Township, Ohio to Herman and Ethel Colbert. Mary was raised in Ruggles, OH. On February 12, 1956 she married Joseph Kemp at Ruggles Community Church. She worked for 20 years for the United States Postal Service, retiring, 1990 in Spencer, OH. She has wintered in Florida for the past 26 years. Mary enjoyed entertaining, reading, and playing cards. They traveled extensively in the United States, Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii. Mary was a 45 year breast cancer survivor.
She is survived by her loving family including her husband of 60 years, Joseph; daughters, Jody (Tim) Weidrick, Rhonda (Mike) Hollowniczky, Lisa (Jim) Spies; grandchildren, Rachel (Dustin) Gerdau, Emily (Justin) Lewis, Joe Spies, Courtney Weidrick, Haley Weidrick, Leah Spies, Max Spies; great grandchildren, Gabby, Gabriel, Grady; sister, Martha (George) Alleman; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by great grandson, Grant Gerdau.
Services will be in Spencer, OH sometime in May. Burial will be at Savannah Cemetery, Savannah, OH.
