It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Priscilla Kilayko, who left us on November 21, 2024, at the age of 77. She passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
Priscilla Kilayko was born on October 24, 1947, in Ilog, Negros Occidental, Philippines. In January 1971, Priscilla married her beloved husband, Jimmy, and just a few months later, they immigrated to Brooklyn, NY, with two suitcases, $50, and the surprise of a pregnancy with their first child.
Together, through 53 years of marriage in the United States, they built a loving home and raised three sons: Jeffrey, Michael, and Christopher, who were her pride and joy. Priscilla is also survived by her three grandchildren, Ty, Jax, and Annabella, as well as her two "fur children," Luna and Maya.
Priscilla dedicated much of her life to her career in food service with the New York Board of Education in Staten Island, where she retired. She was known for her hard work, kindness, and unwavering commitment to serving thousands of meals to students and faculty throughout her career.
At home, Priscilla was known for her infectious laugh, her passion for cooking, and her talent for hosting gatherings both large and small. She touched many lives with her recipes, and everyone who knew her will fondly remember her signature question: “Did you eat?”
A memorial viewing will be held on Monday, December 9th from 1–5pm at Coral Ridge Funeral Home in Cape Coral, FL. This will be followed by a mass ceremony on Tuesday, December 10th at 1pm at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Cape Coral, FL.
Priscilla Kilayko will be forever remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
