

Ricky was a patriotic American who loved his country and who served honorably for 22 years in the U.S. Army. After retiring from the Army, Ricky continued to work for the government as a Construction Engineer, building military housing facilities. Shortly before retiring from that position, he renovated the Navy hospital in Jacksonville, FL and built extensions on airport hangars.
Ricky was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and American Legion. His love of sports (prior to getting sick) included golfing, golfing, and more golfing. His other great loves were his family and his pets. Ricky was a devoted husband and father, and a great plaything for his pets.
Ricky is survived by his beloved wife Jennie Hunter; 3 loving children Leo (Alysha), Julian Hunter and Stacy Barr; dear siblings Dorothy VanKleeck and Nick Hunter (Gloria); grandchild Harper Barr; nieces & nephews Vanessa Koza, Justine Montgomery, Shaina Rolon, Jason Scarborough, Justin Hunter, Nicholas Hunter, Harold Hively, Cindy Lehman, Cathy Hauser and Danny Hively.
In addition to his parents, Rick is preceded in death by his sister Nancy Lowe and nephew Paul Hively.
A memorial service will take place Monday, June 24th at First Christian Church in Cape Coral. A visitation will take place from 11 -12pm, followed by a service to honor his memory. Following will be a burial at Coral Ridge cemetery and a luncheon at First Christian Church.
