after a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Susan was born on the 27th of September 1957 to
the infamous Edith Sevy. She was the baby of the family.
Susan worked as a press operator/printer for most of her life. She was lucky enough to work
alongside of her best friend, Gail McElharen, at Quickprint for the past 30 years. Susan retired
in 2020.
Susan enjoyed spending time with family the most. Friday night dinners, any event with a round
table, picking up and spending time with her granddaughter, and being the strength to her
children. She loved to travel, spend time at the beach and in the sunlight, and take in any
opportunity to play and be a big kid. Susan had the kindest heart and helped to give back to
those in need the best ways she could. She was funny, loved to laugh, and just have a great
time, no matter what the circumstances.
Susan is survived by two loving daughters, who adored their mother more than anything in the
world, Angel Leavens and Crystal Hand. Along with her son in laws, Dennis Leavens and Eric
Hand. The light of Susan’s life is seen within her granddaughter Hannah Hand, who she was
referred to as YaYa, and her step-granddaughter Isabella Hand. Susan is also survived by her
sisters Bonnie and Linda Smith, and her brothers Steve Pooley and Mike Smith, and her exhusband
Joe Decatur. As well as a long list of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family has entrusted Coral Ridge Funeral Home with the arrangements. A Visitation and
Service is scheduled for Thursday, March 17th from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at 1630 SW Pine Island Rd,
Cape Coral, FL 33991. A reception to honor Susan’s legacy will be held during the visitation and
