

Family was the center of Virgilio’s world. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, especially as a proud and devoted grandfather. His home was often filled with laughter, music, and the unmistakable aroma of his famous BBQs, where friends and family gathered to share food, stories, and joy.
Virgilio had a passion for life that was impossible to miss. He loved the freedom of riding his motorcycle, the excitement of traveling and vacationing, and the simple pleasure of being surrounded by the people he cared about. A hardworking man throughout his life, he approached every task with dedication and pride. He also carried a lifelong love for the game of soccer, a sport that connected him to his roots and brought him endless happiness.
Those who knew Virgilio will remember his generous spirit, his warmth, and the way he made everyone feel welcome. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever treasure the memories they shared. He was preceded in death by his stepson, Sergio in 2023.
Virgilio is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Helena; daughter, Julie Pires; stepdaughter, Sara Prousalis and her husband, Bob; four brothers; three grandsons, Tiago, Armani and Jaceon; two step grandsons, Lucas and Benjamin; as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Friday, February 27, 2026 at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 1922 SW 20th Avenue, Cape Coral, FL 33991. Family and friends are welcome to join the family in honoring the memory of Virgilio Pires.
