

Virginia "Ginny" Lee Smith, 87, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away peacefully at the Aviata Rehabilitation Center at North Fort Myers on March 7, 2026. Virginia was born June 27, 1938, in Washington, PA to her late parents, Earle C. Wright, Sr. and A. Mae Wright.
She graduated from Washington High School in PA and soon after opened her own photography studio, Ginny Wright Studio. She was an avid country music fan and became the first Fan Club President for Jimmy Gately, lead for Bill Anderson's Po Boys. Her talent was not only through the eye of the camera lens but also had an artistic eye put to canvas. Her fun-loving game interests stretched from Bingo to Slots and Poker. Lucky at all three.
In addition to her parents, Virginia is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years (married Feb.19, 1972), William Cleon Smith of Cape Coral, FL, brother, Earle C. Wright, Jr (June) of Sebastian, FL and sisters, M. Jean Mounts (Paul) of Claysville, PA, Esther M. Lemley (Sonny) of Washington, PA, Amy J. Hernandez (Leonard) of Bonita Springs, FL, and Molly Kirschner (Norman) of North Fort Myers, FL, step-children, Jerianne Hamilton of Cape Coral, FL, Jeffery Smith of Athens, GA.
Ginny is survived by her two younger brothers, David H. Wright (Penny) of North Fort Myers, FL, and James G. Wright (Christine) of Culloden, GA and stepchildren, Steve Smith of Billings, MT and Cindy Lake of Punta Gorda, FL She had 8 nephews and 8 nieces. She also cherished her dear niece, Rebecca Rodriquez (Jose) of Rogersville, TN and nephew, Michael Kirschner (Rose) of Ft. Myers, FL and beloved friends, Ellen Taibi of Cape Coral, FL and Erma Scott of Lehigh Acres, FL.
Virginia was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church of Cape Coral, FL. A Graveside Funeral Service for Ginny will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 13, 2026 AM inside the Garden of the Resurrection at Coral Ridge Cemetery, 950 Chiquita Boulevard S, Cape Coral, FL 33991, (239) 283-0540.
