It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vito Sante Piepoli, 72, of Cape Coral, Florida, on March 6, 2025.
Born on September 5, 1952, in Alberobello, Italy, Vito immigrated to Endicott, New York in 1967, with his parents and siblings at the age of fifteen. The family later relocated to New Jersey in the summer of 1968, where Vito met Patricia, his devoted wife of 54 years. They built their life together in Little Falls, New Jersey, and later in Cape Coral, Florida.
In New Jersey, Vito established a successful career as a union floor installer. He was a respected leader, serving as an Executive Board member of the New Jersey Carpenter Union, Local #2212, where he was employed for thirty-seven years. Renowned for his expertise and larger-than-life personality, Vito not only excelled in his trade but also mentored apprentices, leaving a lasting impact on the flooring industry. His accomplishments throughout his life demonstrated his dedication and motivation for success.
During his years in Little Falls, Vito and Patricia lived the American Dream, raising their family and enjoying frequent vacations "down the shore" with loved ones. He instilled in his children, Gina and Paul, the importance of their heritage, often saying, "Never forget where you came from." Vito was immensely proud of his family's journey and achievements after immigrating to the United States. He maintained a deep connection to his roots, making numerous trips to Alberobello to visit his parents, Domenico and Crescenzia, along with relatives and friends.
Upon retiring at the age of fifty-five in 2007, Vito and Patricia moved to Cape Coral, Florida, where he embraced a vibrant retirement. He actively participated in the Cape Coral community as a member of the Italian-American, German-American and SWFL Corvette Clubs, creating lasting memories with Patricia and friends. Vito's passion for cooking led him to share his culinary talents as a chef at the Italian-American and German-American clubs.
Vito is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; daughter, Gina; son, Paul; seven grandchildren: Brittany, Jessica, Megan, Chelsea, Shana, Ryan, and Vito; three great-grandchildren: Zayden, Juliana, and Emery; and his siblings, Modesto, John, Anna, and Mimma.
Vito will forever be deeply missed by his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched.
