Brian Lemieux

September 20, 1950 - February 27, 2014

It is with deep sadness, yet gratitude for his presence in our lives, that we announce the passing of Brian Lemieux- a husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He grew up in Alida and built his life in Carlyle with his wife of 41 years. Together Brian and Melanie raised three children and welcomed their first grandchild. Brian displayed strengths of leadership, passion, creativity, and determination through his work as a teacher, farmer, and choir leader. He will be remembered for his love of his family, music, the land, and the game.

Brian’s memory will be cherished by his wife, Melanie; children, Jacqueline (Bob Currie), David (Mandy Rushfeldt) and Sarah Lemieux; granddaughter, Natalie Currie; sister, Anita (Jim) Axford; niece Theresa (Mike) Watson. Predeceased by his father Luke, mother Lucienne, step-mother Marjorie Lemieux, and nephew Jamie Axford.

Funeral Mass: Thursday, March 6, 2014 , 11:00 am, at the R.C. Church of Our Lady, Carlyle, Sk., with Reverend Father Cereno the Celebrant. Interment in Glen Morris Cemetery at a later date.

A time for family & friends will be held from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5 in the Chapel of the Orsted Funeral Home.
