He is predeceased by his father Jack, mother Mildred and oldest son Darrell. He leaves to mourn a son Scott, cousins Norm (Judy) Riddell, their children Derek (Lydia) Riddell, Jonathan, Jessica, Jordan; Jody (Jeff) Sterzuk, Taylor and Lauryn; Jared (Tammie) Riddell, Madison, Adrien, Jaiden, and Nolan; and Pat (Richard) McGillivray, and family. Also left to mourn his passing are the children of friends whom he adopted as nieces and nephews, all who have special stories and memories of their “uncle” Dennis; also, the many friends that spanned his lifetime in Winnipeg and Carlyle – many who knew him as ‘Leroy Montana’.
Dennis loved cars especially the ones he built and raced on the drag strips throughout western Canada and parts of the United States, his favorite being his 1940 Willys 4 door sedan. As a young man Dennis was employed by Ford Motor Co. of Canada (Wpg), serving the mid west region as their dealer service and sales representative. In later years he managed several different Ford and GM dealerships in MB and SK. Dennis loved spending time with relatives and friends, and shared his unconditional love and special brand of wit and wisdom with each and every one.
