 Obituario de Charles L. Miller
Charles Leonard Miller, of Noblesville, passed away peacefully at home on February 12, 2021. Chuck was born in Akron, Ohio on May 22, 1935 to the late Charles and Elsie (Ladner) Miller. Elsie died of TB six months after his birth and his father married his new mother, the late Cecilmae (Gilligan), a few years later. He graduated from Spencer High School in 1953 and joined the Marine Corp. After an honorable discharge, Chuck used the G.I. Bill to obtain his bachelor’s degree from Akron University. While in college, Chuck met and married the love of his life Katherine (Barr). Together for nearly 60 years, they raised three children: Michele (Mike), Craig (Brenda), and Sharon. Chuck is also survived by four grandchildren (Danielle, Logan, Charles, and Austin) and four siblings (Bruce, Dick, Kathy, and Debbie.) His brother Jay predeceased him. As the oldest, Chuck looked out for his siblings and they affectionately called him “Buzz” – the sound that came out when one tried to say brother. After a long career as the financial manager, he retired from Firestone/Bridgestone in the late 90’s. Chuck loved sports (Go Bucks! O H I O) and could often be heard yelling encouragement to his children, random players, and the officials from the stands or at the tv when at home. He was a golf enthusiast and played many prestigious golf courses highlighted by playing Pebble Beach with his son Craig in a father/son tournament. Always, Chuck maintained his sense of humor and great love for his friends, family, and wife – using his iPad to order her two dozen Valentine’s roses that were delivered the day before his passing. A memorial service will be held in the spring at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wheeler Mission Indianapolis https://wheelermission.org/ or Salvation Army. Add or view tributes at www.leppertmortuarycarmel.com.
