Henry R. Kaster

Henry R. Kaster, 86, of Carmel, Indiana departed this life on Monday, March 25, 2024. Henry was born June 18, 1937 in Minoma County, Minnesota as the third of nine children of the late John Henry & Alvine Ahmann-Kaster. Henry lived in Beloit, WI and graduated from Beloit Memorial High School. He served his country in the United States Navy aboard the The Rosevelt, USS Allen M. Sumner (DD-692) during the Korean Conflict. Upon discharge, he worked with a paper mill, traveling the country inspecting various mills. Henry then started a long career working in sales for Motorola, Inc. and ending his career as an investment and insurance broker. He was a devoted catholic, a part of several groups at both St. Maria Goretti in Westfield, and Our Lady of Mt Carmel. Henry was a kind and gentle man who never knew a stranger. As a matter of fact, his cliental mostly lived in rural areas and he visiting them, even if he didn’t make a sale. Everyone liked Henry! He also enjoyed going out to Las Vegas, Bolixi, MS and even Hoosier Park in Anderson. He and his wife, Elizabeth (Liz) Raymer-Kaster of 46 years enjoyed shows there as well. He relaxed by building and flying radio-controlled airplanes and never passed on an opportunity to play golf. Henry spent his later years in golfing as a ranger for Brookshire Golf Course in Carmel. Henry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Liz Kaster in 2006. He is survived by his beloved children, Michael (Joan) Kaster, Paul (Pamela) Kaster and Cynthia Kaster; and he was blessed with eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. And a host of nieces, nephews and old dear friends. Visitation for Henry will be from 1:00 – 3:00pm on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Leppert Mortuary – Carmel Chapel followed by his funeral service at 3:00pm. Interment follows at Carmel Cemetery.
