I was fortunate to work with Marc for several years in a vendor role.  I always enjoyed the time and conversations I had with Marc.  My thoughts go out to Marc's family.  He was a great person.

I am so saddened and heartbroken. I had the privilege of working with Marc for many years as a Lilly partner. He was so kind, professional and skilled. He led by example and always treated everyone with dignity and grace. Rest in Peace and may God comfort his family during this time of loss. 

I don’t have words. Had tears in my Eyes as several others. I would like to say he knows what empathy is about and not sympathy. There’s a difference. Thanks Marc !! 

 I worked just a short time with Mark on the Elanco Novartis project, although he was quiet my encounters with him during this project was always pleasant and he was a super nice man.  He always shared a smile and kindness when you interacted with him.  My condolences and deepest sympathy on to your family for losing such a nice man at such a young age.  

I directly reported to Marc for past 7 years. Last spoke to him about 10 days back. He never showed his sufferings and always very enthusiastic and passionate about his job. He always talked about his 3 sons and wife. He has helped me so much in my carrier and during difficult times. I feel like loosing my elder brother. He was always very calm, compassionate, very focused and a visionary. He is very hardworking and dedicated. There are no words to express the sorrow this brings to all of us. May God give the strength to his family during these tough times. 

My heart goes out to the Krieg family at this time. I did not know Marc personally; however, I have gotten to know his wife Deb over the past couple of years by seeing her beautiful  face at the gym almost every day. I hope you all  find peace in knowing Marc is so very proud of his beautiful family and he is with you always. I’m so sorry for this incredible loss. Love you Dana

I was a colleague of Marc's at Lilly.  I was hired onto his team in 2018 so Marc was the first person I interacted with from initial interview to my first day at Lilly.  Marc was one of the most even keeled professionals I have ever worked with, an excellent mentor, always willing to help and an extreme pleasure to work with and be around.

Marc was not one to share many personal details but the one thing he was always quick to talk about was his sons football or sports so it was very evident where family ranked with Marc.  Some of our longest non work related conversations were about our children.

Marc will be greatly missed and I send my deepest sympathy to the family.

Marc loved his family and his boys and loved working for Eli Lilly.  I am very glad to have worked closely with Marc for a number of years.  One of the most thorough technical leaders we have ever had - he did not leave any stone unturned.  He was loved by many and respected by many more.  He will be dearly missed. I'm very sorry for your loss and that I can't join in the mass for Marc...  I worked with Marc for several years as he helped Elanco manage all of its merger work.  He had a wealth of knowledge of all things IT and was amazingly calm when others would be freaking out.   His calm and kind composure in all types of situations was so impressive.  He just remained steady in his goals and always did a great job.  I know this work imposed on his personal time -- but we all appreciated the dedication he showed, the dignity he had and the kindness he always showed to others.    He is very admired!

I first met Marc around 25 years ago. Our roads crossed path a few times since then. Marc was very humble, hard working and a really nice person to work with. I am very shocked by his sudden death and want to pass a word of comfort to his family and friends. 

Marc was one of the kindest person I have come across in my professional life.  He was always considerate of other's situation and always mentored his team  to overcome any challenge.  He is being missed already.  May his soul rest in peace and god give strength to the family to overcome this loss.

I have been blessed to have Marc been a part of my journey through life even if it was for the brief grade school years when he took it upon himself to take on the head coaching duties of multiple sports.  I'll always cherish those years with all the dad's serving as assistant coaches and the special bonding that took place during practices and the games.  Marc was always a steady and calm voice, teaching the kids how to play the game but more importantly teaching them life lessons - how to be a good teammate, how to handle wins and losses, the value of hard work, respect for themselves and one another, etc.  A special man.

It was just a couple of weeks back when we spoke in our Monthly Ops meeting … His dedication to his job was unbelievable and he kept attending meetings despite being unwell . RIP Marc. Heart broken by listening this news! I love Marc professionalism and empathy towards his teammates. Praying God to give enough strength for their family members.

I spoke to Marc after long time on Thursday. He was speaking with lot of Efforts but still concerned about his work!! We requested him to take rest and not worry about the work … It was very shocking for us to know about this. He has been one of the very nice person we know of. He. Loved his kids and used to always speak about them. Our prayers with the family and kids. May god give you strength to survive the situation!

Marc was my hiring manager at Lilly. I worked for him for 5 years. He was a kind, hard working, dedicated, concerned, truthful, and professional boss. We always had great conversations and good laughs. I will miss him.
