

Mark L. Bonini, 59, of Carmel, passed away September 30, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 26, 1959 in Torrington, Connecticut to the late Leonard Bonini and Mary (Vrlik) Bonini. He was a 1976 graduate of Torrington High School and graduated from Central Connecticut State University in 1980.
Mark is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Anne (Smith) Bonini, two children, Emily of Chicago, IL and Matthew of Carmel, IN; siblings Christine M. Dickinson, her husband Walter of Torrington, CT, Linda M. Gryniuk, her husband Mark of New Hartford, CT; and several nieces, nephews, and great niece.
Mark began his career with The Hartford Insurance, which brought him to Indianapolis. He then worked at Baldwin & Lyons Insurance, holding many positions over 28 years. Most recently, Mark was employed by DMC Insurance as Executive Vice President.
Mark was an avid cyclist and golfer, riding in multiple Hilly Hundreds over the years. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling, especially with his family. He was a volunteer for the Starfish Initiative and Riley Children’s Hospital. He loved drinking fine wine and eating lunch at Sardi’s with Penny.
Mark’s family would like to thank the staff at IU Neurology and IU Home Hospice. They would also like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Jeffrey Nace, MD of IU Executive Health.
Services were held on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Cornerstone Lutheran Church, 4850 East Main Street, Carmel IN, 46033.
There will be a memorial service for Mark on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran church, 837 Charles Street, Torrington, CT, 06790.
