Mike spent most of his school years at Carmel High School before graduating from Zionsville High School in 2001. A dedicated athlete, he played football throughout high school, forming lifelong friendships and learning the values of teamwork, perseverance, and loyalty—qualities that defined him throughout his life.
At just 15 years old, Mike began learning the family commercial painting business alongside his father. His tenacious personality, strong work ethic and determination set him apart and made him an asset to the company. He consistently went above and beyond, taking immense pride in everything he did. Working beside his dad was one of Mike’s greatest joys, and over time he rose to become President/CEO of Anthony Anderson Corporation. He earned his NACE Inspector Certification and was highly respected in the industry. Mike viewed his employees as family and was always willing to step in, lend a hand, or offer support whenever needed.
Above all else, Mike’s greatest pride was his family — his wife, Kelly, and their three sons, Brody, MJ and Jaxson. They were the most important part of his life. He loved watching his boys grow and took great pride in the young men they are becoming.
Mike truly never met a stranger. His colorful personality, contagious smile, and unmistakable laugh could light up any room. Though he had a tough exterior, those closest to him knew he was a big-hearted teddy bear with endless love to give.
Outside of work, Mike lived life to the fullest. He cherished time with family and friends, was a huge Ohio State football fan, and an avid golfer who took advantage of any remotely nice day to be on the course. He had a passion for finding rare bottles of bourbon to add to his growing collection. The gym was one of his sanctuaries- a place where discipline met determination, and where he steadily surpassed his own expectations through strength, focus, and perseverance.
Mike was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Green, Jr., and his father-in-law, Michael Andress.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kelly (Andress) Green; his devoted sons, Brody, Michael Jr. “M.J.,” and Jaxson; his dedicated parents, Tom and Betty Green; his beloved mother-in-law, Daryl Andress; brother-in-law, Brian (Abby) Andress; sister-in-law, Maxie (Michael) Smith; cherished nieces and nephews, Hadleigh, Weston, Ella, Rhett, Ford, and Nellie; along with a large extended family, countless friends, and many colleagues who were proud to work beside him.
Mike’s legacy is one of hard work, loyalty, laughter, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that memorial contributions in Mike’s name be made to Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center online at give.myiu.org.
