
Born Nancy Eileen Streff on March 13, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of Russell and Eileen Lane Streff. Growing up in Chicago, Nancy developed a lifelong passion for figure skating, eventually achieving recognition as a world-class pair skater. She carried this passion into adulthood as a dedicated coach, inspiring countless young skaters with her talent, discipline, and encouragement. In her youth, she spent summers in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, where she was an avid water skier and diver, and proudly served as one of the first female mail carriers delivering mail by boat on the lake.
Nancy enjoyed a beautiful 62-year marriage with her beloved husband, John B. Tiberi III. Together, they built a life centered on family, resilience, and love. She was a devoted mother to her three children: John J. Tiberi, Victoria Tiberi Repovich, and Linda Tiberi Foley.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Eileen Streff; her brothers, Russell and Gerald Streff; and her cherished daughter, Victoria Tiberi Repovich.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, John B. Tiberi III; her children, John J. Tiberi (Hallie Beddes) and Linda Tiberi Foley (Vince); and her grandchildren: Amy Tiberi; Lindsay Tiberi Howard (Corey); Kim Tiberi; Garrett Tiberi; Bridget Foley; Meredith Foley; Rileigh Repovich; Tiffany Repovich; as well as Taylor Mowid and Natalie Mowid, who were cherished as grandchildren in every way.
Nancy raised her family in Downers Grove, Illinois, before moving to Claremont, California, in 1983. She later relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina, and most recently resided in Carmel, Indiana.
Beyond her figure skating career, Nancy found joy in many pursuits. She was a dedicated member of a gardening club, an enthusiastic mahjong player, and worked as a travel agent, combining her love for people with her passion for travel. Her warmth, strength, humor, and vibrant spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Nancy will be remembered for her sense of style, unwavering dedication to family, and her ability to make everyone feel welcomed and loved. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched, both on and off the ice.
A funeral Mass honoring Nancy’s life will be held on May 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM ET at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Carmel, IN.
