

Norma J. Barry, 81, died March 30, 2026. Norma was born March 15, 1945, in South Bend, Indiana. She was a devoted, faithful woman whose life was centered on her family and her faith. She spent most of her adult life in Carmel, Indiana and was residing in Fishers, Indiana at the time of her passing.
Born and raised in South Bend, Norma was a graduate of St. Joseph High School. Norma worked as a bookkeeper serving for many years with a local McDonalds Franchise as well as for GTE.
Norma married Michael C. Barry on May 17, 1969, on the campus of Notre Dame. He preceded her in death in 2003.
She enjoyed water aerobics and memorable trips to Aruba and Alaska, as well as visits to family in Arizona. She was a longtime and dedicated member of St. Maria Goretti and St. Louis de Montfort Parishes. She was a familiar face at Adoration Hours and had made many friends through their senior groups. Norma was also a longtime member of Primelife Enrichment where she nurtured friendships and enjoyed both exercise and social activities.
Survivors include her daughter, Suzanne Snapp (Troy); grandsons, Michael Snapp and Zachary Snapp; sister, Ruth Carpenter (Norris), brother, Ronald Swiatowy (Sue) and brother-in-law John Barry (Barbara); and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Angela Brant and Joyce McNarney.
She is also survived by her grand-dogs, Luna and Duke. She was preceded in death by her beloved canine companions Wolf, Freyja, and Edgar, as well as grand-dogs Tommi, Sam, Mira, and Cane.
Visitation will be held at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church, 11441 Hague Rd., Fishers, IN 46038, on April 7, 2026, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance or to Prime Life Enrichment.
