Charles Rickard Ferreira, known to his beloved as Rick, passed away on April 7, 2026, at the age of 66. He was born in Los Angeles on December 6, 1959. He lived much of his life in sunny southern California, and recently became a resident of Noblesville, Indiana.
Rick was an adventurer and desert explorer, known for his "rusty stuff." He planned countless unforgettable road-trips with his family. His deep curiosity led them to all sorts of ruins, caves, waterfalls, abandoned buildings, and many of the unique points of interests on the roadside of America. Whimsy and the seemingly impossible intrigued him greatly. He was truly a kid at heart, eager to launch his next adventure, project, hobby, or business concept. No goal or dream seemed unreachable to him.
Planning and preparing was a way he showed his love to others. Rick was constantly squirreling items away that may come in handy to someone in need. His compassion for others led him to open his door to many, which created many lifelong connections.
Devotion to the Lord was the keystone of Rick's life. He followed the footsteps of Jesus and the guidance of God in every choice he made. Rick was endlessly empathetic toward the needy and hurting of the world, often going so far as to pull over to help strangers in a broken-down car on the side of the road. He cared intensely for maintaining relationships with everyone he knew. He sought out goodness and love without fail. His unshakeable faith in God helped shape him into the incredible man we all felt so blessed to know.
Rick was a creative soul. Many were lucky enough to have heard his silken singing voice, often over the melodies of his acoustic guitar. He wrote many original songs and had a knack for filling a space with a peaceful energy. He was an out-of-the-box thinker. Over the years, he mastered 3D printing, invented new tools and games, and could be working on dozens of projects at once. A doer and a tinkerer, he could fix almost anything and was known to his family as "Doctor Rick."
Rick is survived by his doting wife of 39 years Mary Ann Foster, his two children Laura Jeanne and Megan Beth, his mother Carolyn Jensen, his sister Jeanette Nelson, his nieces Paige, Rebeka, and Kendra, and his nephews Tim, Josh, Caleb, and Eric.
A celebration of life will be held at 1pm EST on Saturday June 13th, 2026, at Rick's home (5871 Catlin Lane, Noblesville IN 46062). We invite all who knew and loved him to join us.
