Born on October 21, 1950, in Carmel, Indiana, to Tom Renner. Shari was a devoted mother who worked as a waitress at Hollyhock Hill for 25 years, while putting herself through nursing school and forming lifelong friendships. She went on to dedicate more than 25 years of her life as a nurse at Wishard Hospital, caring for others with compassion, strength, and quiet resilience.
Shari found her greatest joy in being surrounded by family and friends. A strong woman with a wonderful sense of humor, she brought both comfort and laughter to those around her. She shared an especially deep and loving bond with her granddaughters, Madison and Abigail, and was their safe place. She loved treating them to good food, exploring unique places, and spending time together on shopping trips. She found peace in nature, especially on walks, where she seemed to know the name of every flower, plant, and bird. She had a curious mind that fueled her love of travel and her passion for discovering obscure destinations.
Shari was preceded in death by her father, Tom Renner; her sister, Debra Thompson; and her son, Craig Wilson.
She is survived by her loving son, Christopher Wilson; her granddaughters, Madison and Abigail Wilson; her great-grandchildren, Aria and Michael Members; her sisters, Ann McVety and Cynthia (David) Sochar; her stepmother, Joan; and many extended family members and friends whom she cherished dearly.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love, strength, and warmth she brought into the lives of those around her.
Family and friends will gather at Carmel Cemetery on May 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. for a graveside ceremony.
