 Obituario de Vickie L. Bricker
Vickie L. Bricker, 70, of Carmel, Indiana departed this life, in the company of family, on January 18, 2023. Vickie was born August 8, 1952, in Washington, Indiana to Virgil and Almeda (Byrer) Flinn. She attended school in Odon, Indiana and was a graduate of North Daviess High School. On September 4, 1971, Vickie married the love of her life, David Bricker, to whom she was married for over 51 years. Together they raised three children in Carmel. After her children were older, she worked many years for Carmel Clay Food Services up to her retirement in 2017. Vickie was a longtime (46 years), dedicated member of Venture Christian Church (formerly Hazel Dell Christian Church) where she ran a Wednesday night meal program for 28 years. Vickie had great faith, a caring heart, and was always ready with a kind word and a helping hand. She was devoted to her family and church. Vickie was the glue that held her family together and set a wonderful example for her children and grandchildren to follow. Nothing made Vickie happier than spending time with her family whether it be a family beach vacation, which she organized for 18 straight years, or a family holiday gathering, especially Christmas gatherings. She never missed an opportunity to attend school activities and sports events in which her children and grandchildren were involved. She was always supportive of them and enjoyed being involved in their activities whether as a spectator, providing transportation, or any other area where she was needed. Vickie liked doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, playing euchre with good friends and family, and watching a good television series when time permitted. She also loved to travel with her husband and good friends and was very fortunate to have visited all 50 states and many foreign countries. Vickie always enjoyed staying in touch with family and old friends. She will be fondly remembered by all who crossed her path in life. Vickie was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Flinn, and brother-in-law, Donald Bechtel. She is survived by her mother, Almeda Flinn; her loving husband, David Bricker; children, Shawn (Angela) Bricker, Jeremy (Jill) Bricker, and Courtney (Justin) Skelton; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Madison, Marshall, and Matthew Bricker, Charlotte and Isabel Bricker, and Thomas and Lucas Skelton; siblings, Cindy Bechtel, Greg (Betty) Flinn, and Brett (Valerie) Flinn; several nieces and nephews and a host of old friends and church family. Visitation for Vickie will be from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2023, at Leppert Mortuary – Smith Carmel Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at the mortuary with additional visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment follows at Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Shriners Hospitals for Children, The Wounded Warrior Project, or Wheeler Mission. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.leppertmortuary.com for the Bricker family.
