

She was lovingly known as “Dr. Mom” to her family and friends. She was very active in church activities, especially the music program. The daughter of the late Rev. Thomas Pritchett and Bessie Alice Miller Weaver, she was born May 3, 1939 in Wichita Falls, TX. She graduated in 1957 from Hillcrest High School in Dallas, and as a student of the Dallas Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, she received the Florence Nightingale Award as Outstanding Student in 1960. She then earned her BSN from Texas Christian University in 1962, and received her MSN from the University of Washington in 1966.
Her outstanding abilities were evident as she served as Asst. Professor at the University of Nebraska School of Nursing and at the University of Arizona School of Nursing. Anna had also worked as the Director of the Methodist Hospital of Dallas School of Nursing. She retired in 2006 from the Presbyterian Hospital of Plano.
Anna is survived by her husband, David M. Meier, whom she married in Waxahachie, TX May 29, 1971; by her sons, Thomas W. Meier of Plano and James D. Meier of Coppell and by two sisters, Jo Rene Noah of Joplin, MO and Alice W. Steely of Grapevine and a grandson, Samuel J. Meier of Coppell.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec 7th, at the Riesel Cemetery, Riesel, TX with Memorial Services on Thursday, Dec 8th at 10:00 a.m., at Christ United Methodist Church in Carrollton where she was a long-time
member.
